Younger Episode 2 - Liza Sows Her Oats

Main thoughts, who is this for? Genuinely who did they make this for? 
Is it for old people to make fun of the young or the young to make fun of the old?

Was this written by a man? Yes it was? Does that show a lot? Why yes it does.

In this episode Sutton Foster who has somehow managed to convince a large publishing company that she is some 15 years younger than she actually is, goes to lunch with Hilary Duff and Hilary's friend. I have literally no idea what the characters names in this show are and I'm not going to learn so there's that. At lunch Crazy Friend (CF) for 'Tops Off Tuesday' all of a sudden get her boobs out. The show treats Tops Off Tuesday like it's just a common thing all millennials are doing, probably not out in public like CF but just regularly on Tuesday's. Now maybe this is just an internet phenomenon that passed me by but the whole way through the episode it's like this is definitely a thing. CF's boobs went viral in the space of like half an hour which gave our heroine her grand plan for saving the book launch! 

Sutton Foster who is supposed to have a full grown daughter as well who would be I guess slightly Younger than she's pretending to be doesn't know what going 'viral' means. She like 'can't you get a cream'. I mean LOL look at the old person amiright?

Anyway Sutton Foster suggests to a way to promote the current book which needs a Twitter presence because of course the random just hired assistant must come up with promotional pitches in this world. Her is that they should use Tops Off Tuesday to promote the book and (Oh wait I know one name) Joan Trout AKA The Trout behaves like this is the worst idea but actually loves it. So they put it on Twitter. But badly because even though in the first episode Sutton and Debi Mazer (who I think I could watch dry paint) spent a whole montage researching stuff young people are in to, like 1 Direction and Harry Styles, they failed gain any practical skills like how to use Twitter or presumably any other form of social media other than Facebook because Sutton was already using that. Due to the fact that Sutton has never used Twitter before she doesn't put in the hashtag in initially and that meant no trending. 

Of course, once Sutton Foster is told by Hilary Duff whose character probably needs a whole other post, that she forgot the hashtag and I can't remember the catchy name they gave the #Norksoutforbooks or whatever it all went off swimmingly and there was some side story that was about a boy that was really irrelevant and actually not very bothersome so you enjoy that bit.

Shedonism So Shedonism that’s the great name of the book they are publishing that’s written by Jenna Maroney from 30 Rock, she isn’t actually Jenna, that would have been a potentially interesting crossover, Jane Krakowski just plays exactly the same character. Today we start with the youth not knowing who or what Punky Brewster is like, no comprehension whatsoever. It is technically too old for 26 year olds in 2015 but it ran in syndication for their entire childhood so it would probably still just be part of their consciousness even if they hadn’t really watched it. So they would have thought it an odd reference rather than just complete dead non understanding stares that we got. For context Sutton Foster was describing the pig tails she had as a young teenager as being like Punky Brewster's, the quick cover was to say she looked like a funky rooster and that was accepted. Oh you’re just high, it’s okay. Cool. Great writing. Then we discover that Sutton Foster doesn’t know how to play video games and again we, as 26 year olds are shake, family. Feminist Criminology

I found this in my Google Slides. It must be from my Criminal Justice Admin degree. I always found feminist criminology interesting.  Most of the social theories have kind of the same starting point - crime is caused by a power imbalance. Marxist theory says that capitalism and financial inequality cause crime. I assume there's an explanation for white collar crime but I can't remember, it may just seek to explain criminality in the underclasses.  Feminist criminology began in the 60’s and 70’s. It was a response to the limited ways in which women were dealt with in the criminal justice system.  Traditionally women were controlled by their family and community.
